Welcome to Niels Wergin-Cheek’s Homepage

I am Senior Lecturer in HRM in the Department of Human Resources and Organisational Behaviour at the University of Greenwich Business School, and architecture student, also at the University of Greenwich.

I am teaching Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Employee Relations, Organisational Behaviour, and Research Methods. Before commencing my current post at the University of Greenwich, I have been teaching at the London School of Economics and the Bristol Business School.

I am conducting research in the areas of Industrial Sociology, Industrial Relations, and Political Economy. The main focus of my research is on trade union issues and the organisation of work in the automobile industry. A list of my publications in these areas is available here.

Apart from my teaching and research activities, I have various administrative duties: I am Programme Director for my department’s BA Human Resource Management, member of the university’s Academic Council, and branch secretary for the University and College Union (the lecturers’ union). Previously, I was and Liaison Tutor for the Syrian Virtual University.

When I’m not at work, there are quite a few things I like to do: My big passions are sports (doing rather than watching), the arts (watching rather than doing), travelling, reading, photography and architecture - which I have started studying in 2008.
